What do the letters mean?
D or diopter (sometimes labeled PWR or SPH) is the corrective power of your lens. A minus sign (-) indicates nearsightedness, a plus sign (+) indicates farsightedness.
Other prescription parameters BC or base curve is used to match the curvature of the lens to your eye. DIA or diameter is the distance across the surface of your lens.
